Care Quality Commission publish report on Basildon and Thurrock University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
A Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection report on Basildon and Thurrock University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has been published today, rating the trust as Good overall.
The CQC carried out its latest inspection at the trust in February and March 2019. As a result, the trust is rated as Good overall. It is also rated as Requires Improvement for whether its services are safe and responsive. It is rated as Good for being effective, caring and well-led.
When the trust was previously inspected, in 2015 and 2016, it was also rated as Good overall. It was rated as Good for being safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led.
Basildon and Thurrock University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust serves around 405,000 people in south-west Essex. Its services include urgent and emergency care, surgery and maternity, as well outpatient services and diagnostic imaging.
The trust operates from Basildon and Orsett Hospitals as well as the St Andrew's Centre in Billericay. It provides dermatology services across all south Essex. The Essex Cardiothoracic Centre is also part of the trust, providing heart and lung treatments for the whole county and further afield.
