After a hard-fought local election campaign for county, borough and district council seats in Brentwood and Ongar, I offer my congratulations to all those who are now councillors, and my commiserations to those who worked very hard but lost on the night.
I am very pleased some of the very strong Conservative candidates will be working for Brentwood residents, namely Jay Patel, Lesley Wagland and Tom Gordon, but I am looking forward to working with all those elected for Brentwood Borough Council, Epping Forest District Council and Essex County Council in the Brentwood and Ongar constituency area.
Essex County Council is now led by Reform UK and, once the initial reorganisation of roles takes place, I will be taking a number of my local campaigns to the newly elected councillors including getting speed restrictions outside Stapleford Abbotts Primary School, a Weight Restriction Order for Ongar High Street and traffic calming measures on Hartswood Road.
I appreciate, for many of my constituents, there is great concern about the way in which vital issues including education for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, adult social care, and the maintenance of our roads will be managed by the new country administration, and I will continue to hold the Council to account on behalf of my constituents, as I have always done.
