National Grid have, as expected applied for planning permission to build massive pylons from Norwich to Tilbury.
The Planning Inspectorate now has up to 28 days to decide whether to accept the application. If it is accepted, National Grid’s submission documents will be published on the Planning Inspectorate's website, which will include responses to the feedback gathered in the consultations on the project so far.
The Planning Inspectorate would then appoint an Examining Authority which will hold a six-month examination of the application, and it at this stage local residents, landowners and other stakeholders need to register an interest so they can provide comments and take part in the examination period.

As you may already be aware, I am completely opposed to these plans which will wreck our beautiful countryside – it’s infuriating when there are offshore and underground alternatives – and I will continue to fight them every step of the way.
