The pandemic is continuing to have a significant impact on everyone’s lives, including constituents and their families who live with Parkinson’s.
Did you know?
Parkinson’s is the fastest growing neurological condition in the world and has over 40 symptoms. Each one has an impact on someone's life and, as a result, it can lead to many 'can'ts'. For example:
- “Can’t walk my daughter down the aisle.”
- “Can’t talk with friends in the pub.”
- “Can’t eat out with my family.”
- “Can’t focus at work.”
Parkinson’s doesn’t stop. But people don’t let it stop them. People like Dave Clark, Sky Sports presenter share many ‘can’ moments’:
When I was diagnosed with Parkinson's a 'specialist' said I'd only be able to present live sport for two or three more years. Nearly a decade after that diagnosis, I can still present live television, on stage, in front of 10,000 people.” - Dave Clark
How can you help raise awareness?
You too can get involved this November with Parkinson's UK's campaign 'Time for Can' to help other members of the public understand the impact of the condition by sharing #TimeForCan and the campaign's advert on your social media channels. In addition you can join Team Parkinson's and take a look at Parkinson's UK.
