This week’s Gazette is the first edition of 2018 and with Christmas and the New Year celebrations now a distant headache away, we can look towards what the next twelve months may bring for Brentwood and Ongar.
Since I became an MP in the summer one of the issues that has come up on the doorstep with alarming regularity has been that of potholes. Indeed it is no secret that a number of our local roads have fallen into an unacceptable state of disrepair.
Some constituents have been in touch to suggest the vote last week on New Clause 30 of the EU Withdrawal Bill signalled a weakening in the protection of animals. That is wrong, as Environment Secretary, the Rt. Hon.
I’ve been hugely impressed by the young people I have met in Brentwood and Ongar since I was elected earlier this year. Their enthusiasm for politics and getting involved is nothing short of inspiring.
