One of my constituents, Maria Bishop, who is an NHS nurse living and working in the Brentwood and Essex area has been in touch to let me know she has decided she is going to dedicate herself to taking part in various sporting events this year to raise funds for the British Heart Foundation. She is running the London Marathon, cycling the London to Brighton bike ride, completing the London Triathlon and the London Essex 100 mile bike ride. And if that wasn't enough, Maria is taking part in a 2 mile open water swim at London Serpentine and holding family charity events and party nights with raffles and auctions.
