NIneteen thousand additional businesses and homes in Brentwood now have access to full-fibre broadband with average top speeds of 1,130Mbps thanks to recent investment by nexfibre, Virgin Media O2’s partner, to expand its full-fibre wholesale network in the area

The first phase of work to bring full fibre broadband to Brentwood was completed at the beginning of the year, has been completed, meaning residents can now access Virgin Media services for the first time, offering speeds up to 20 times faster than the local average. These hyperfast connections, offering top speeds of 1,130Mbps, are perfect for busy households working remotely, streaming Ultra HD TV shows and films, video calling friends and family, and playing games online.

I was invited to meet some of the Virgin Media O2 team as they completed the work in the town. It is good to know my constituents have access to some of the fastest broadband speeds in the UK and there are plans to make gigabit broadband available to even more residents in the area.
