Helping people with physical or learning disabilities into employment is an important part of giving equal opportunities for all, and Realise Futures, a not-for-profit supported employment scheme funded by Essex County Council, is looking for employers in the Brentwood and Ongar constituency to get involved.
I met Oscar Marsh, the Engagement Coordinator for Realise Futures earlier this year, and have since been delighted to hear the project has already found jobs for many people in Essex by helping them with the application process and helping them settle into new employment.
Currently, Realise Futures is running a campaign #whynot?, to promote disability confidence and promote the benefits of employing the disabled community. If you are a local employer, and feel you could offer suitable roles within your business, do get in touch with Oscar.
